About Us.

The Scarecrow Trail was originally invented to raise money to pay for our village hall extension. As time has gone on, and the trail has become more and more popular, we have split the proceeds between the village and other charities. In 2007 we were able to hand over a cheque for £1000 to Cancer Research UK, in 2008 we gave £1175 to Diabetes UK and in 2009 we gave the British Heart Foundation's 'Heart of Derby Appeal' £1250. We also support groups in Weston on Trent.

We always need more scarecrows! If you live outside of Weston on Trent, but would like to make a scarecrow, you will be made very welcome. We always need 'fill in' scarecrows for quieter areas in the trail. They will also be a part of the competition!
